Our goal is to be able to provide wine collectors from the United States with the opportunity to create personal wine cellars that would rival the greatest cellars of Europe. Although often attempted by architects and builders in the U.S., the design, feel and level of crafstmanship available always fell short of providing collectors with the true historic European style wine cellar that they envisioned.
The search for the solution to this problem ended when Architectual Metals and Wine Cellars became the sole importer for Europe's finest wine cellar designer and builder. Since this time, we have collaborated on the building of the finest European style wine cellars in the United States. From 1,000 bottle personal wine cellars and tasting rooms to vast cellars for some of the country's great vineyards, U.S. wine collectors are now able to obtain for themselves the true European wine cellar of their dreams.
Our wine cellars have been featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and Wine Spectator Magazine. We have become known for our ability to provide our clients with personalized and extraordinary wine cellars and tasting rooms that exceed all expectations.
We are designers and builders of the world's most elegant, expertly crafted old world wine cellars. Our unique vision and resources provide architectural details not found in other wine cellars. Traditional-European vault construction and the use of rare, salvaged materials are signatures of our wine cellars. Whatever your structural or aesthetic needs are, we will source the right materials for your peronalized cellar. Our staff salvages unique materials from destroyed or deteriorated European castles, palaces and cathedrals, including handmade, antique bricks dating back to the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy, antique wood beams and other wood elements dating back hundreds of years, and one-of-a-kind flooring. We also have unrivaled access to the finest quarries in Europe, acquiring sandstone, limestone and other rock from Italy, Greece, and France. The stone from Bordeaux is from the original quarries and has been used in the cellars of Latour and Mouton Rothschild.
The components of our wine cellars - including wrought iron door hardware, light fixtures and hinges; doors, portals and window frames constructed from wood hundreds of years old; and wood and stone coats of arms, wells, pillars, portraits and stone statuary - are crafted by hand before shipment to the building site. Our team of U.S. and Europe-based master craftsmen then build the cellars by hand using centuries-old techniques. The result is a one-of-a-kind cellar of exceptional quality that cannot be duplicated by any other source.
